Ultimatte® vs. Chroma Key
Several years ago, Greg McMurry, one of the truly fine visual effects guys in the industry, asked me to write a short description of the differences between using an Ultimatte® and a Chromakeyer for color compositing, and placed the resulting paper on this page. Included is a brief and relatively non-technical description of how the color compositing process works in both types of devices.
